Income Tax - 2021: 2022

Income Tax Slabs in India are announced by the finance minister every year. Currently, there are two different Income Tax regimes. Under the new regime, tax benefits cannot be availed. Under the old regime, taxpayers can avail of tax benefits.

Income Tax Slab for Year 2021-22

Given below are the various tables for the Revised Income Tax slabs and rates for the AY 2021-22:

The Art of Compering

The Art of Compering

A Compere

a) The person who comperes a show, introduces the programme and the participants, is called as the master of ceremonies, abbreviated as MC or emcee, or the Compere, anchor, announcer, and microphone controller.

b) He or she is mediator, announcer and coordinator of the event.

c) ‘The Master of Ceremonies’ is an apt description of the anchor as he/ she is the formal host and the felicitator of the event.

d) A person who entertains the audience and introduces the different performers in a show.

 

Roll of Compere

1) Role of an emcee is to warm of the crowd and give them an idea about the programme ahead.

2) He/ She is there to glorify the performance of all the performers with his/her appropriate, positive comments and appreciation, and hence it is his unsaid role, to ensure enthusiasm among the viewers with active response in the form of an applause.

3) He has to make sure that there are smooth transitions between different segments of the programme.

 

Ice Breaker Activity:

Difference between anchoring, compering, hosting and public speaking

Anchoring:

The persons speaking in television programs, news debates, a radio jockey etc. are doing anchoring.

Compering:

The persons speaking in prize distribution, annual gatherings, product launch, fresher's welcome party, wedding, birthday party, anniversary, award shows etc. are doing compering.

Hosting programme:

Persons speaking in talk shows, game shows, quiz shows, reality shows, fashion shows, open mic events etc. are hosting a programme.

Public speaking:

Persons speaking for motivating people, in public meetings, in  legislative assemblies, in public addresses, in speech and elocution competitions, storytelling, standup comedy etc. are called public speaking.

 

Qualities needed for a compere

1) Compering requires language fluency, clarity of thoughts and confidence.

2) A basic understanding of the nature and tone of the event is a must.

3) A simple but dignified style with words that come from the heart.

4) Ability to deal / work with the technicians, event organisers, guest speakers.

 

Activity:

Imagine that you are a compere of a ‘Prize Distribution Ceremony’ of your college. Write a script of the same.

You can take help of the following points.

1. Introduction – A brief introduction of the programme / function / show.

2. Welcome speech – Welcome of all guests.

Felicitation – felicitation of the guests (the principal, vice principal etc.)

Compering- Learn more about it.

A compere-

A compere is the person who introduces the people taking part in a radio or television show or a live show.

He or she is called as the master of ceremonies, abbreviated as MC or emcee, or the Compere, anchor, announcer, and microphone controller.

He or she is mediator, announcer and coordinator of the event.

‘The Master of Ceremonies’ is an apt description of the anchor as he/ she is the formal host and the felicitator of the event.

There can be a wide range of events - right from highly formal ones like seminars or conferences to informal ones like annual gatherings, fresher’s parties or weddings.

Role of a compere

1) to warm of the crowd and give them an idea about the programme ahead.

2) to glorify the performance of all the performers with his/her appropriate, positive comments and appreciation.

3) to ensure enthusiasm among the viewers with active response in the form of an applause.

4) to make sure that there are smooth transitions between different segments of the programme.

5) to show the skill of stringing or weaving the whole event in one artistic thread.

6) At the same time, if there is any chaos, the compare still has to ensure the smooth movement of the programme.

Good morning to one and all present here!

This event will be a memorable event as we all have gathered here to celebrate the Annual Sports Day of our college. The guests have arrived here. Let’s welcome them with a thunder of applause.

2. Lighting the lamp

I call upon the honourable chief guest Mr. Sushil Jadhav, the Maharashtra Kesari wrestling champion, the Principal of our college Mr. Rajesh Patil, the vice Principal Mrs. B. S. Shirsath Madam and the Superviser Mr. S. N. Sangale to light the lamp and garland the photos of Goddess Saraswati.

I request all the dignitaries to take their respective seats on the stage.

3. Welcome song

Now I request Miss Chaitali Chaudhari and her team to recite the welcome song.
