“Percentile” is in everyday use, but there is no universal definition for it. The most common definition of a percentile is a number where a certain percentage of scores fall below that number. ... If you know that your score is in the 90th percentile, that means you scored better than 90% of people who took the test.

Formula :

Rank = (100 – P)× N /100

P = Percentile scored by  student

N = No. of students appearing for exam.

For PCM Group, N = 276166

FOR PCB Group, N = 281154


 एखाद्या विद्यार्थ्यांचे 96 Percentile आहेत यांच्या अर्थ 100 विद्यार्थी CET परिक्षेस बसले असतील तर या विद्यार्थ्यांचा क्रमांक 5 वा आहे. आता च्या CET मध्ये PCM विषय घेऊन 2 लाख 76 हजार 166 विद्यार्थी बसले होते.

   समजा, एखाद्या विद्यार्थ्यांचे 96 Percentile आहेत.त्याची आता च्या CET मधील Rank खालील प्रमाणे
काढा.

Rank ={[100-96]÷100}×276166+1
         
           = 11047

म्हणजेच महाराष्ट्र मध्ये त्याची Rank ही 11047 वी आहे. व त्यानुसार त्यास इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज मध्ये प्रवेश मिळणार आहे.
